So many times, we pray for an Isaiah 6 experience. A scripture well known to all of us. The experience where the train of the robe of Abba Father filled the temple, in a vision that Isaiah saw. The posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried and the house was filled with smoke. That picture of the presence of our glorious King that makes us tremble in adoration.
Can you imagine this experience that Isaiah had for a moment? That brief moment of encountering a part of Abba Father’s sovereignty. Have you ever wondered what the deeper meaning of this scripture might entail? What Abba Father is saying to you and me in this mind-blowing part of His word? We have to realize that Abba Father is building a body of believers (His bride) that live and feed on His word.
The word of God teaches us that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that precedes from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). We are also familiar with the fact that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Abba Father (Romans 10:17). Notice that this scripture is in the present tense which indicates that it is a daily journey, an ongoing relationship of sanctification and pursuing His presence. Faith is stirred in the atmosphere of experiencing revelation of the truth of His word.
The first 5 chapters of Isaiah describe how the children of Abba Father had fallen in self-righteousness, not adhering to any warning from God, and as a result, drifted away from His presence in their own disobedience. It was approximately 740 BC, in the year that king Uzziah died after a 52-year reign over the house of Judah, when the prophet Isaiah receives this divine vision from Abba Father. We see the most astounding pictures from the word of God come to life when we study Isaiah 6.
We will start in verse 1:
“1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.”
The English word train in Hebrew is the word “shul” which implies the skirt or corner of the robe of an outer garment. The other word used in Hebrew for the corner of such a garment is the word “kanaf”. Right through the bible, this is a symbol of authority. This explains the reason why the woman that suffered from blood (Matthew 9:20), wanted to touch the hem of Jesus’s (Yeshua’s) garment. It was a prophetic action, touching that which represented the authority of the King, that would bring healing to her (See Malachi 4:2). David, furthermore, cut off the corner of the robe of Saul in the cave where David and his men were hiding (1 Samuel 24) for the same reason. In 1 Samuel 24:20 Saul says, when David shows him the skirt of his garment that had been cut off, “You shall surely be king and the kingdom shall be established in your hands.” Saul knew that, the Hebrew meaning of this skirt or train of his robe, was a symbol of authority and knew that David would be king through this prophetic action.
The next word in Isaiah 6:1 is the word filled which is the Hebrew word “Ma’le”. Ma’le means “to experience the fullness of presence.” It also means “to be armed for warfare”, “to be satisfied or content”, “to be consecrated or dedicated”, “to be fenced in protection” and “confirmed in purpose”.
The English word for temple is the Hebrew word “Hey’chal”, which means – the dwelling place of the Most-High. The word of God teaches us in the New Testament that our body is the temple in which Holy Spirit dwells (1 Corinthians 6:19) or the dwelling place of the Most-High, right?
Listen to this startling revelation that comes to life from the Hebrew text when you merge these Hebrew pictures laid out in Isaiah 6:1:
The moment the authority of the Most-High God enters your life (fills your life), you will experience the fullness of His presence. You will be satisfied and content in Him, consecrated (set apart) for Him, fenced in His protection, confirmed in your purpose and armed for spiritual warfare because of His authority, released in His presence”
How astounding is this image? We have to realize, as bride of Christ that things happen in the presence of the Great I AM! When He fills us, we truly come to life! We are but a speck of dust breathing in His grace. There is no distance in the spirit and therefore we can pray for His manifest presence wherever we are. He is the source of all that is good, the source of all authority and when we are in His presence, we are safe and loved.
This is, however only the beginning of the vision of Isaiah. Next time we will continue to see the breath-taking revelation as we continue to study this scripture. Be blessed!
